So this being one the bands 1st gig of 2011, the turn out for it was better than expected. With them playing to a full house, with people being turned away at the door as it was that full. The support was class, unfortunately I arrived on their last two songs and was to busy saying hello to people to properly check them out, I know shame on me, but they were up there with Rodrigo y Gabriella, 2 lads.

SOLD OUT
Bewley s Cafe Theatre, Grafton St.
Anyway, Five Day forecast start, few sound issues have to raised up here, you could hear the drums and to my knowledge they weren't mic-ed which was grand, the bass, guitars were all sorted, the problem lay with Piano and the Violin, but on the last 2/3 songs the technical difficaulties were sorted out and you could semi hear the Piano and the Violin was on top form.
The atmosphere in the venue is brilliant, so intimate, I would definitely like to see more band  playing  acoustic sets, similar to Doyles' "Ruby Sessions". Its pretty sweet place, small with 50 seated capacity, very 1920s style to it.
The crowd was mixed, with a lot of friends of the bands but also a lot of friends of friends to, some people even surprised me. Drink was a good Price cant really remeber what I was drinking I know I started on the Vino Rouge, but changed after that.
Now to more pressing matters of the gig itself...I have to hand it to Ian Martin, I saw him before I think it was the summer at the 1st DurtyPromotions (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Durty-Promotions/138601989489225) event in  The Twisted Pepper, 54 Middle Abbey Street Dublin 1 (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Twisted-Pepper/123984920950818), where he played on stage with a loop machine(yeah I don't care what ever you call it....), anyway he was really good then, I didn't know that he was in Five Day Forecast. He is a very good front man for the band, a very good guitarist and singer.
Ronan "sex god" Corrigan was loving it up there, in his own world, my mate rob says he pulls the same faces as Richie our mate from  The Late Fragments (http://www.facebook.com/thelatefragments?ref=ts&v=info) when he is playing the drums, hes very into it. Darragh, Ro's bro too was the face king.
The harmonies between them were class, enjoyed all their songs. Mellow choons for sure. It was a fucking great gig. Had a great time, the crowd was perfect for the band and well hey I'll be at every gig.
I can't wait til they have an EP out, Ill probably be one of the 1st, yes even before the gang have it, ill have bought it.
Defo worth checking out they will be playing the Globe Bar & Café, 11 South Great Georges St, Dublin 2 (http://www.globe.ie/)  on Wednesday February 23, see event link: (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=158698474180751)
Hope to see you there!!!!!

So The Night Continued....
So once the gig was over we help the lads pack their stuff up...  then to huge debating of Where do we go, and the Chinese cart type things that people hold and run 2 ppl sitting down in it to their destination was parked up beside us, so I took two of the runner lads to McDonalds on Grafton st, and they took me back.
So then we get the crowd moving en route to.... Palace, no wait, Doyles, Richie's band(The Late Fragments) are there and Caoimhe, Shauna and Dan"dididandandan" Smith... no we will go to Twisted Pepper, I haven't a clue what the reasoning for it was though. So on our walk I over hear two lads chatting, so I asked if they were america, now these lads were both in suits proper lawyer style. their response was one being from Sydney and the other from Philippians, but origionally from the UK. So were chatting away turns out that they were investment bankers, so I start having a laugh with them about buying hotels and trashing them etc. and the Sydney lad takes out his wallet and hands me a €50 Note and say "have yourself a good night". Boom!!! I hug em and walk swiftly away. I have to add my mate thought I was buying drugs then the saw him giving me the money and thought I was a supplier(I'm not.)
So at central bank I havea  lil dance of shock and, well more a shock and extremely happy dance. We hit up Twisted Pepper and go wild... 7 Jagers and 7 Peronis please.....
Blur Blur Blur....2€ Bucky, 3€ Brahma/Peroni... Cheap booze, talking to Sean and Colin the DJs getting some tunes played, doing the Chris-Karl hand dance... Rob and myself go for a run to the ATM but take a detour meet some American girls from... I forgot.. get some pictures with them and then off to Doyles to have a few swings on Caoimhe's Drink, Bulmers as I recall, say hi to the gang and off on our travels again we go.
End of Night: McDonals beats Burger King.... and  Strawberry Milkshake, then into Eddies see how Ro and Darragh are getting on... Lisa wasnt so well... I ate a fair amount of their banquet like feast. Off to the Taxis we went.... 2mins into the journey Caoimhe passes out on Jimbambinos shoulder... Jimbambino on her head... Sweet Dee(a.k.aMick DunDEEEE) she falls asleep ever so politely, and Shauna on my shoulder , with Chris peaking in every so often and Shauna O'Rourke doing that head bobing half asleep bus journey home style sleep....
Home to Shaunas.... Pass out... Night Night
