New Years 2013
NYE Dublin was where j was meant to go. Would have been a laugh but instead we hit the ever banter filled McGowan's of Phibsborogh. My night was 5 stars.
Banter, dancing, craic, chats, drinks etc all continued throughout the night.
The next day woke up in the house. And well lounged around taking 3 naps throughout the day. I was wrecked.
My start go 2013 was top stuff, I fonder what the year will bring.
As for new years resolutions are concerned, ill make s goal each day and/or week.

Drinking blog
Hey all,
Does anyone ever wish there was a camera crew with them on a night out?
Recently I have rekindled my love of Captain Morgans and well when I drink any rum I become mischievous and start messing.
Christmas Eve is a complete blur due to the rum....
I think I should start blogging at the end of my night are when I go to the toilet, or pat for a video crew as I wake up without a single memory.

Getting back to blogging
There is so much stuff out there that I want to blog about... Music, my Travels, my Nights out, Dublin. Everything.
I think just going to have to dedicate each month to a specific section ease my way in. I'll definitely try do a weekly blog but working for the city businesses is a lot. I will try.
Im probably going to do some vlogs also, as I find it easier to be in the moment than to be typing things for hours, plus I enjoy editing software with videos.
So to start if anyone out there knows any good music blogs I should follow tell me... I need as much help as possible.

All proceeds on the night will go to the campaign, with the primary cost being materials; election posters, flyers, etc. Dylan Haskins is running as an Independent candidate in Dublin South East in the upcoming general election. Involved in the local music scene at every possible level for the past eight years from van driver to bass player, record label boss to promoter, band manager to founder of the Hideaway House and Exchange Dublin, Haskins has taken his DIY attitude into the political sphere. Haskins has drawn huge attention online and offline as an Independent candidate since the launch of his campaign website www.dylanhaskins.ie and his ‘It Starts Here’ announcement video. *In the interest of transparency all those who donate through attending this gig will be listed on Dylan's website following the election*

So this being one the bands 1st gig of 2011, the turn out for it was better than expected. With them playing to a full house, with people being turned away at the door as it was that full. The support was class, unfortunately I arrived on their last two songs and was to busy saying hello to people to properly check them out, I know shame on me, but they were up there with Rodrigo y Gabriella, 2 lads.
- Bewley s Cafe Theatre, Grafton St.
The atmosphere in the venue is brilliant, so intimate, I would definitely like to see more band playing acoustic sets, similar to Doyles' "Ruby Sessions". Its pretty sweet place, small with 50 seated capacity, very 1920s style to it.
The crowd was mixed, with a lot of friends of the bands but also a lot of friends of friends to, some people even surprised me. Drink was a good Price cant really remeber what I was drinking I know I started on the Vino Rouge, but changed after that.
Now to more pressing matters of the gig itself...I have to hand it to Ian Martin, I saw him before I think it was the summer at the 1st DurtyPromotions (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Durty-Promotions/138601989489225) event in The Twisted Pepper, 54 Middle Abbey Street Dublin 1 (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Twisted-Pepper/123984920950818), where he played on stage with a loop machine(yeah I don't care what ever you call it....), anyway he was really good then, I didn't know that he was in Five Day Forecast. He is a very good front man for the band, a very good guitarist and singer.
Ronan "sex god" Corrigan was loving it up there, in his own world, my mate rob says he pulls the same faces as Richie our mate from The Late Fragments (http://www.facebook.com/thelatefragments?ref=ts&v=info) when he is playing the drums, hes very into it. Darragh, Ro's bro too was the face king.
The harmonies between them were class, enjoyed all their songs. Mellow choons for sure. It was a fucking great gig. Had a great time, the crowd was perfect for the band and well hey I'll be at every gig.
I can't wait til they have an EP out, Ill probably be one of the 1st, yes even before the gang have it, ill have bought it.
Defo worth checking out they will be playing the Globe Bar & Café, 11 South Great Georges St, Dublin 2 (http://www.globe.ie/) on Wednesday February 23, see event link: (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=158698474180751)
Hope to see you there!!!!!

So The Night Continued....
So once the gig was over we help the lads pack their stuff up... then to huge debating of Where do we go, and the Chinese cart type things that people hold and run 2 ppl sitting down in it to their destination was parked up beside us, so I took two of the runner lads to McDonalds on Grafton st, and they took me back.
So then we get the crowd moving en route to.... Palace, no wait, Doyles, Richie's band(The Late Fragments) are there and Caoimhe, Shauna and Dan"dididandandan" Smith... no we will go to Twisted Pepper, I haven't a clue what the reasoning for it was though. So on our walk I over hear two lads chatting, so I asked if they were america, now these lads were both in suits proper lawyer style. their response was one being from Sydney and the other from Philippians, but origionally from the UK. So were chatting away turns out that they were investment bankers, so I start having a laugh with them about buying hotels and trashing them etc. and the Sydney lad takes out his wallet and hands me a €50 Note and say "have yourself a good night". Boom!!! I hug em and walk swiftly away. I have to add my mate thought I was buying drugs then the saw him giving me the money and thought I was a supplier(I'm not.)
So at central bank I havea lil dance of shock and, well more a shock and extremely happy dance. We hit up Twisted Pepper and go wild... 7 Jagers and 7 Peronis please.....
Blur Blur Blur....2€ Bucky, 3€ Brahma/Peroni... Cheap booze, talking to Sean and Colin the DJs getting some tunes played, doing the Chris-Karl hand dance... Rob and myself go for a run to the ATM but take a detour meet some American girls from... I forgot.. get some pictures with them and then off to Doyles to have a few swings on Caoimhe's Drink, Bulmers as I recall, say hi to the gang and off on our travels again we go.
End of Night: McDonals beats Burger King.... and Strawberry Milkshake, then into Eddies see how Ro and Darragh are getting on... Lisa wasnt so well... I ate a fair amount of their banquet like feast. Off to the Taxis we went.... 2mins into the journey Caoimhe passes out on Jimbambinos shoulder... Jimbambino on her head... Sweet Dee(a.k.aMick DunDEEEE) she falls asleep ever so politely, and Shauna on my shoulder , with Chris peaking in every so often and Shauna O'Rourke doing that head bobing half asleep bus journey home style sleep....
Home to Shaunas.... Pass out... Night Night

I have to start this story and review type thing from the very beginning of the night...So mass confusion on where exactly Caoimhe lived on a few peoples behalf's... yours truly being one of the culprits. So its 10mins down the Kilcock rd in Maynooth... My hole it is... well we were strolling, but well deserved after carrying the 24 of Sol(a great beer for them long haul drinking sessions). So we end up on the left wondering what house was Caoimhe's turns out its a mansion bungalow...looks like hotel. All I can say is... SOUND SYSTEM YES!!! Well done, wifi hook up ceiling speakers in every room... the Party just got started. CHOONS a blaring. Bit Soljaboy dancing.
Taxi...NUIMSU Please. Done.
Arrive at said gig, just in the nick of time too for a shot and pint. The SU was fairly busy too... the pack a crowd, Go GOTA! Pints in hand meet and greets done... the band are ready to electrify! Crowd does go mental, I'll be honest I was on fire, like a child filled with skittles(but coffee) and let loose on a play zone. WILD.
The Gyspies were insane... the crowd loving everything the were pumping out. James has an extremely origional voice and is refreshingly fresh and perfect for the tunes they're playing. The MeldoyArtonians of every song are brilliantly choreographed and written well too. Lyrics are are poeticly class and sung with meaning. Rob was there belting out every song, and Dan giving everyone the oul Nod and Wink up on stage to all who said his name.. the lil divil. hahaha Ya legend!
I saw Gyspies on the Autobahn for the 1st time, to my recollection, last week the 1st of Feb at Ruby Sessions in Doyles. These lads can play brilliantly Electric of Acoustic... I'm talking wow factors all round. I say to my recollection as they have played on of my regular watering holes many a time Captain America's Blanch, Dublin 15, so I may have been inebriated when or if I say them before.
Still these lads are going places and I know they're a band to watch out for and one I'll be supporting, but not a groupy of like Rob Murray.
----------------------------------------------------------------
So The Night Continued....
After the gig we hit the main bar sing and dance to a few choons, chat to the band chill out for a few. Then its go time...
Try to get the crew to hit it up and go Mantra... we lost a few good Dudes and Dudettes that night, but found them in the morning, they know who they are. So Mantra it was... in the door 5seconds after paying and the fun begins(Rob you know!!!!). Pint of Bav €3, Done. So meet the gang in the smoking area, dancefloor.. Now I have no recollection of anything.. I recall Paddy Brennan. end of.
But on the 10th on the bus journey in to see Five Day Forecast, I found that I saved one of our little Dudettes, Kate Nolan, who almost became a lost sheep and a victim to Mantrasities in the toilets... (I am going to add fancy words to sound more hero like than I actually was but hey, my blog my rules) Kate calls out to Rob to save her.. Rob on a mission for pissin says he's busy. Then I am told I was the next inline to save her(probably rambling around lost) and I save Kate from the man who wanted her to party and dance with him in the Toilet... he doesn't know the Cougar.. she coulda been useful in this situation. Anyway back to not knowing where I was after been told I saved our Kate.(I am currently fb-ing Kate to see what I did)...
Katie Nolan: eh.. basically you didn't just laugh at me and ignore my cry for help (unlike some, pst Ro I think this is you!), i think i grabbed you and probably put you between me and yer man and he realised there was no point arguing.. i dunno it's all very hazy. you did prevent him from dragging me any further though.
So now my memory come back... Mizzoni Time.. 4 people, Wagon Wheel Mexican Biatch!!!! BOOM. No drinks we can handle it(stupid decision) after a while of Lisa not wanting to wear her heels anymore, I give her my Vans, and I put on her heels, wow this happened as we left Mantra, then pizza was ordered. So we get the pizza after alot of messing in heels(my calfs hurt the next day) and Army operative task force the pizza to the taxi, Back to Riordan Apts.
Ate the Pizza outside of course in the porch type area, as we waited for the household owners to arrive. Game of Twister is called upon, chilling and chatting follows, Chris passes out in Jimbambinos bed. FUCK... where did the RAs come from.... ah bollix!
So I throw Jabs in the cupboard, but the RAs left, and then I believe it was Marie(her room, tiny room), Ronan, Rob, Lisa, Jabs in one room. So too cramped I left joined the K.O. Crew Chris and Jimbambino in her room. Night
Wake Up. Miss Train. Late For Work. Great Night.
Gypsies on the Autobahn a must see.
